While sitting in the car this morning waiting for my daughter to get her breakfast at McD's (cuz I don't go in anywhere before makeup) I was treated to a short show put on by two very *um strange men.
there is a man futzing with his boot, pulling up the sock that slid down, checking for owies I guess, nothing weird there right?
A couple of minutes later, I look back over and he is still there, looking for scuffs or something and licking his finger to rub them out. Ah obsessive-compulsive maybe. We'll call him "oc man".
Next a perfectly normal looking older gent carrying a brief case comes out of McD's and starts to walk past "oc man" let's call him " briefcase man". Oh! I forgot the shopping cart parked in the space one over from me( it enters this story later).
Now as "briefcase man" walks past "oc man" he looks up at me and grins. (I smile back and hit the princess locks on the car door).
He walks on past a few steps then "oc man" straightens up and walks toward the McD door on the way he points and shakes his finger as he talks to the shopping cart (presumably about parking in the handicap place without a placard) "briefcase man" follows.
I think "oh," must be his caseworker or something and they're meeting for breakfast.( I double check locks as they walk by).
Now "oc man " is clearing all the little pebbles off the sidewalk as he walks down it and stops right outside the door to pick up little bitty(or possibly invisible trash) and put in the trashcan outside the door, "briefcase man" passes and goes on in. Okay...*hm. My little experiment in figuring out what I am observing seems to have drawn all the wrong conclusions. Maybe "briefcase man" is just making sure there won't be any problems and we will change him to "good sam".
Meanwhile "oc man" is still looking over the side walk and entry and straightening the trash can cover etc.
A woman and her son walk out that door ( not main entry) the boy keeps looking back at"oc man" and his mother says something to him he runs to the car (see? it's not just me I feel some better). They leave, I can't ( girl still inside).
So, "oc man" finally happy with cleanliness of sidewalk enters (I start to get a little nervous)just then, "briefcase man" comes out places his briefcase in the cart and drives it away. oookaay.
Girly comes out and we leave, she's going to work. I tell her the story and she says "what guys"?
I really need to talk to her about paying attention to what goes on around her.
