I haven't watched the first season ST/NG since the first season.
Oh, I haven't either, mostly because I remember how ghastly wesley and troi were. First season Troi had a habit of dramatically stating the obvious, as in, "I sense... great... JOY!" while watching two long-lost-to-each-other space creatures reunite. The writers at the beginning clearly had no idea what to do with an empath. This was all aggravated when they killed off the only *good* female character of the season, Tasha Yar, who was murdered while trying to rescue Troi. I loved her in later seasons.
