Old downstairs bedrooms start of remodel some demolition started

How to turn bedroom and school room into a master suite

Bare ceiling and walls, new windows with glass blocks on each side. We felt that kept with the era of the house and will let in extra light while still keeping some privacy being lower just above ground windows. Our side view? A wooden fence.... I think I'll plant flowers there next spring


tub is in and plumbed but covered by construction tools and materials

Bathroom and walk in closet in the back soon I hope back window will disappear into a wall in the closet. Who needs a veiw of the shed anyway?

From back where closet will be and yes that's my new w&d sitting where my new bedroom will be.

Oh yeah a lot of work and only on weekends and after work for the poor guy.
When it's done he gets the first jet bubble bath and a glass of champagne .

Your husband is in construction, that's good because that is quite a project! Wow! But a master suite is so worth it!

I hope so. This has taken a while to finally really get going. It is really nice that he knows all the stuff he does,can pretty much accomplish whatever he put his hand to. He's an estimator and project manager for a general contractor and that makes him Very handy and quite motivated. Who wants to not be across the hall from his MIL, can't say as I blame him.
Now if he just wasn't so grumpy.

It's a big scary project that's for sure and there really is a lot more done than it appears. In any older home you always wonder what you're gonna run into when you start tearing the stuff off ceilings and walls and rerouting plumbing. What we found out was our house has some weirdness but all in all is pretty well built.
Now that I've reclaimed the camera there will be pictures more often.
Now, I need more coffee.
