As my best friend's son is preparing to return for his second tour in Iraq after Christmas.

good luck to him and his buddies. i'm about ready to adopt another soldier, and i prefer to work one on one, instead of through the official sites - you think your friend's son would appreciate getting stuff out of the blue?

we should take it to email, if so, and i'd need a wishlist, as well as what he's doing this tour. that doesn't make sense until you realize i do things like send calculators to combat engineers who are building schools and stuff. :-)

but i like buying things for soldiers and spoiling them rotten; i manage to get off a package every couple of months or so, and the first one always has mini-cross stitch kits in them, because i can't resist trying to subvert people to my obsession. although with the combat engineers, the kits disappeared like smoke in the wind - and it's all guys in a CE platoon!
