Thank you. They make me very happy and I had such fun. I've had this phone for almost a year and there seem to be no interesting plates. Heh, now there are.*g* Next project is a Nerf Tek6 mod and bubble swords.
Most crafting is way easier than you'd think. So easy in fact you'd might think you were doing it wrong. In this case, just take an old cell phone face plate and sand it with 180 grain sandpaper until the paint looks old and weathered. Then sand again with 220 sand paper till smooth. After that you may want to sand again with fine steel wool but in this case I wanted it a little weathered looking. Spray paint with a couple of coats of black matte finish paint and when it's very dry apply a little Rub n Buff till you get the look you want. I took an old cheap jewelry piece, painted and applied the rub n buff. Then sprayed a couple of coats of clear matte acrylic. I used the kind that would burn the wax (rub n buff) a little for a more crinkled weathered look. The studs are just colored brads with the little folding parts cut off and glued to the plate (before spraying acrylic). Maybe I'll do a step by step on the next project if there's any interest.
