So much for quiet
May. 6th, 2006 09:50 amThis morning I woke to a cacophony in my backyard.
I thought maybe a neighbors cat was arguing with one of the squirrels that use our back fence as a highway between the neighbors trees.(we only have these huge lilac bushes)
It was a Magpie! Making cat noises!
Now I knew somewhere I my sleepy(not yet caffeinated) brain these things happen,but this was the first time I'd heard anything like it.I mean the ravens mimic the dogs barking and car doors slamming etc,but a magpie trying to intimidate a squirrel out of a pine-cone by hissing and cat growling at it was just bizarre!
I may have nightmares...
